Best of both worlds?

Following the recent 2013 PISA results the OECD has also released an analysis of the countries which have the best combination for young people – i.e. the best schools and the happiest students.

Having visited Singapore and met a number of students there I think it’s interesting to see them top the list. Some people have said that it may not be in their culture to complain, but I felt that all of the students I met there were very honest about their situation. And, whilst I did meet a lot of students who expressed they felt under significant pressure, none of them indicated they weren’t happy with their lives in Singapore.
